Ang kalat ng bahay!
Wala na kaming ulam mamaya!
Lahat ng trabaho ng asawa ko para sa taon cancelled na!
No work no pay kami!
Hindi ako makapagpa check up!
Ang daming problema, ang daming pwedeng i-reklamo, I can go on and on and on… will my complaining and worrying solve any of my problems? Or ease my current situation?
NO it will not.
It will only make me more miserable, more unhappy even hopeless and defeated.
So what should we do? Totoo naman hirap na hirap tayo ngayon dahil sa mga ngyayari sa paligid natin. But we can’t give up.
Instead of looking and focusing on all the negative things- let us set our eyes on what is good. Instead of complaining and worrying, let us learn to have a grateful heart.
It’s hard, I know. How can I be thankful, I don’t even feel like it? Why don’t you do this.
Get a piece of paper and a pen or even your phone- list down things you ate thankful to God for right now.
Can’t think of any? Let me help you.
Take a deep breath. Can you breathe? Then thank God for it!
Thank God you are healthy.
Thank God for food on the table no matter how much or how little there is.
Thank God that you have a roof over your head.
You are watching right now? Thank God for the internet, for being able to communicate with family and friends..
There is so much to be grateful for. God is doing so much for us despite of what’s happening if we only stop to look.
The Bible says
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thess. 5:18
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phil 4:6
If you woke up this morning, thank God for it- that means He is not finished with you yet! And if He isn’t finished with you then He will carry you through. Trust in Jesus. If He gave up His life for you on the cross, how could He not freely give you everything else? Tell Him your worries and needs. He will provide for you and take care of you.
When we fill our minds and hearts with thanksgiving there wont be room for negative thoughts.
When we are thankful we acknowledge that all good things come from God who is in control. We learn to depend on Him. He changes not only our situation, but He changes our hearts and He strengthens us, fills us with His peace and gives us joy.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. -Psalm 107:1
