Peace and Joy even after Bad News

Last night I received some not so good news and i felt disappointed, the feeling that I am not good enough and other discouraging thoughts came rushing and i brought it to God in prayer. I was surprised because I wanted to complain to Him, instead I found myself thanking Him for all that He has given me that I don’t even deserve… 

i thanked Him for all that I have now, that I am healthy, that my family is healthy, that I had water to take a shower, that I even have a house! I asked Him to humble me and to accept what He wills for my life whatever it is, even if i don’t like it. That His will prevail over my life. And just like that I felt better, my heart was filled with joy and peace.

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; Lamentations 3:21-25

As I closed my eyes last night, I was reminded of His great love and faithfulness. Who cares what others think or do to me, it doesn’t even matter if things aren’t going my way or if the world is going crazy.. I have been given peace that cannot be taken away from me… i refuse to worry and be sad because I have a Good God! A good good God who loves me- may pa bonus pa na good husband and good son. Thank You Jesus!!! You are amazing! 

Are you worried? Are you sad or disappointed? Do you feel unworthy? Instead of complaining or crying about it (it’s okay to cry by the way) as long as you bring it up to God in prayer. He hears us! He knows our hearts and what we need even before we ask Him. So praise Him! Thank Him! Put your hope and trust in Him! He is our hope, our joy, our peace, our Salvation!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-8
